The Young Toddlers learn to use their large muscles to move and balance their own body. They demonstrate control in changing body position and movements such as sitting to standing, stopping, and running. They also learn to move with increased coordination, with or without adult support. The children in these photos are imitating simple yoga positions with their teacher while referring to the illustrations in the book "Yoga Bug".

Last week children and teachers began the Smithsonian Music and Sound Discovery Project Challenge by creating a KWL chart. First, children shared what they already Know about music and sound. This information was added under the K section of the chart. Next, children indicated what they Want to know about music and sound. Their questions were added to the W column on the chart. Teachers will build upon their prior knowledge and use their questions to support children as they embark on an exploration of music and sound. During morning work they explored making different sounds from instruments in the music center.

Family Focus Friday: The Wolfe Family "I remember the strain and stress I felt when we considered whether or not we should place our children back into daycare during the pandemic. In March 2020, the decision was made for us due to the shutdown, but fast forward six months and a third baby to August 2020, and this was now our choice! Despite our initial reservations (and self-imposed guilt trip) we made the decision to do what was best for our family and enroll our children. ...Never once have we looked back! Our children are safe, loved, thriving socially and thanks to the protocols Bright Horizons has implemented, healthier than ever." "The best part about Little Reflections? The teachers. They are EXCELLENT. I fully trust them with the three most important human beings in our life (Everly - 4, Rowen - 2 and baby Hudson 7 months). It seems like every day they impress me with something new. Everly is writing, Rowen has mastered his colors and baby Hudson has captured the heart of each of his care takers. I’m grateful for the staff at Little Reflections and the enrichment they provide my children!"
