When I joined the Army and took my oath to serve, I swore to give my life for my country. During my 24-years I deployed for six months to Haiti - the most disease prone country in the world, was called up for a year after September 11th, was a responder for Hurricane Katrina, volunteered to deploy for the Iraq War, and then after retiring, served in Texas for Hurricane Harvey. I've been in a missile attack, laid up with a tropical disease, missed more birthdays, school eve...nts and school dances than I care to remember, but with the belief that my service would help preserve our rights and freedoms. So, when the governor says he's going to decide whether I can operate my business or not, I have to respectfully disagree that he can override my Constitutional rights. Today I am announcing that I am now accepting reservations for our B&B. We will continue to make every effort to provide a clean accommodation for our guests and I ask that those making reservations take necessary precautions likewise. I anguished over this decision for a long time, but believe that as responsible adults we can prevail. We look forward to seeing our old friends and meeting new ones as we all move forward in these difficult times. Dennis Lapic
