Hello Local Residents. Well we have had a great run of 10 weeks in a row without a miss. But this weekend is not looking good for weather to date, with 80% chance of thunderstorms Fri-Sat-Sun. I don't like making the call to early, but unless the weather forecast changes for the weekend, our first cancellation will happen. Hello Everyone. I realize this is a bit later than expected, but I wanted to be sure that the weather for Saturday was going to cooperate with our plans before setting it in stone. And the good Lord above has indeed offered us an amazing weather day for the Hot Rod/Classic/Antique Drive In Movie Night in Southampton. So here is how this will work. Beginning ONLY at 6:00 PM this evening, the first 60 cars to secure their spots will be able to be parked in a place where you can... see the movie screen. You must post your name and a pic of your car ON THIS THREAD to secure your placement. We can find space for about another 25-30 more, but may we suggest you work on setting yourself up for a "Double Date" situation in the cars that are parked with screen view. The remaining spots are for our weekly movie goers who come out to the movies nearly every weekend. Parking lot for the hot rods, classics, muscle and antique cars opens at 5:00 PM to 6:15 PM. Once we have you all positioned, the parking for the other movie goers will open at 6:30 PM. There is no charge to attend, although we are "VERY" appreciative of donations received at the entrance. For our first timers, Angelo's Pizza (215-322-7775) accepts advance orders for the Drive In folks. You order-pay-tip in advance and the delivery drivers come all at once around 7:30 to 7:45, before the movie starts. Tell them you are at the Drive In Movie. Please take all trash home with you as we do not have trash services. You can bring your own snacks or drinks as well if you wish. To listen to the movie, you are instructed upon arrival to tune into a specific channel on your car stereo and you listen from there. Clean Porta Potty's are on site with hand sanitizer. MOVIE: American Graffiti will begin at sunset or approx. 8:40 PM. The weather is slated to be a wonderful clear night in the low to mid 60 degree area during the movie. This night will be a full house, so we will ask that everyone respect those around you. At the end of the movie, we ask for your patience and consideration as everyone works their way out of the parking lot. I have jumper cables in the event that someone needs them, but that happens after the lot has been cleared. REMEMBER: To give those who are working a chance to secure a spot, DO NOT respond before 6:00 PM tonight. After 6, it's first come, first served. Include your name and a pic of your car/truck. Ok movie folks. There is a last minute change in movie venue. I was contacted by a local resident who's mother is not doing well. Her mother always wanted to see the movie Grease on the big screen. So I hope you all find the same compassion as I found when hearing this request. So tonight's movie will in fact be Grease and NOT Uncle Buck. We look forward to a nice crowd tonight. ... Ok movie friends. We have worked out a deal with a great local pizza shop for our movie friends. You will be able to order pay ahead of the show, by 6:00 pm please, and they will deliver everyone's food at about 7:45....just before the movie starts. They will offer a special discount to our movie visitors. So all food will be delivered at the same time and you will be asked your name when they arrive to receive the food order. Please remember that tipping the delivery driver ...is suggested. When calling, mention that you will be at the Drive In Movie to receive the discount.
