~ Carmen de Lavallade Famous dancer & actress. She danced with legends such as Josephine Baker and was one of the first Black dancers to dance with the Metropolitan opera. Check the comments for a video of her dancing to Quincy Jones’, Soul Bossa Nova in Dear Quincy. Born in Harlem, NY, Ms. Tyson has forg...ed a legacy that carries the longevity that many of us can only hope to achieve. From Broadway, to Hollywood, to film and print modeling, Cicely Tyson has paved the way and shown us how to live a gracious and full life while being true to yourself, believing in your gift and never forgetting your integrity. We could list Ms. Tyson’s accolades forever but we thank her for her many accomplishments, her unwavering commitment to telling our stories and our collective truths and for being one of the most illuminating jewels in Black Hollywood and Black America’s crown.
