As we get closer to this big storm tomorrow let's go back to March of 2017. On March 14th Luzerne County had a whopping 22.1 inches of snow in one day! Engine 1 was dispatched early that morning for a shed fire close to a residential home. The fire was knocked quickly making no damage to the nearby home. While leaving, our neighboring department had been stuck in the snow. All hands were on deck helping them out.. With that being said this storm will likely be close or equal to what we endoured that day. Stay safe!

To ALL Exeter Residents: Due to the impending major snowstorm, Exeter Borough Council along with our Mayor, is imposing a no parking ban on Wyoming Avenue for ...the duration of the storm. This ban will be strictly enforced by the Exeter Borough Police force. Vehicles will be towed if not moved. All Exeter Borough residents are asked to please utilize their driveways if possible so our street department can properly remove the snow from borough streets. Stay safe and thanks for your cooperation.

Diamond is safe, unharmed and back home with her family!! <3 Update: *******We have a sighting of her. Please do NOT go looking for her or go into the woods ...to try to find her. She is in a very dangerous area and we don't want her to get hurt or worse. Please do NOT get out of your car if you see her on the highway. You will push her into traffic. I'm begging everyone, please do NOT go into the woods.******* Unfortunately there was a tragic, fatal accident last night on 81 North near Moosic/Avoca. The pup below is missing from that accident. If you see her or if you saw her after the accident, please call us immediately at 570-760-9043. We do not know if she is hurt or not. But, she absolutely will be confused and scared. If you see her, please do NOT call out to her or chase her as we don't want her to run further or into danger like traffic especially on 81. Please do NOT post sightings, please call 570-760-9043 immediately instead as we need to get the information quickly. We also don't want people (although they may have good intentions) going to the scene and scaring her. Let's get this little girl home to her grieving family. <3

As you settle down tonight for bed, remember that, on this night...19 years ago, 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning tomorrow. 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift of saving lives. None of them saw past 10:00 am Sept 11, 2001. In one single moment life may never be the same. As you live and enjoy the breaths you take today and tonight before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted. Never forget.
