Another successful class completed.

Another challenging African skin to deal with. Tanned out like wet cardboard with zero stretch and very difficult repairs. Eyelid skin missing on both eyes and terrible ears due to horrendous skinning and turning. With a lot of TLC and skill it turned out outstanding!

21 1/2 inch small mouth bass carved out of tupelo. Even though this isn't taxidermy, it shows the importance of reference study, accurate measurements and knowledge to produce an accurate likeness of a live fish. The rocks, grass (except the one blade supporting the fish) and crayfish are all hand carved as well.

Massive Colorado mule deer. Form measurements, 8 inch eye to nose, 31 inches at the axis and 34 inches at the swell. The second mule deer is for size comparison, 7 3/4 inch eye to nose, 20 inches at the axis and 22 inches at the swell.

4 pound skin mount large mouth bass on a hand carved form, with custom molded head and hand made copper lily pads.
