Becky Dobson earns her 2nd player of the game award in the semi final game against Canada. We are proud to share this as her goal with 34 seconds left has just placed the women's USA team in the gold medal game.

While she's not drawing penalties, sticking chicks in t...he crouch she's doing her typical all out hard work on the rink. Couple of assists in a huge win over Slovakia yesterday and today the lone goal in a 2-1 loss to a power house Canada. Oh and just player of the game to go with it. Before the day ends we can't forget to send a big Happy Birthday to the big man of the team. His contribution through leadership is untouched. Dominating in face-offs, a wicked turn around shot from the slot, this guy moves like he has wings regardless of his massive size. Can't forget he's like a big teddy bear. Thanks Phil Drucker for leading through experience. Happy Birthday to our Most Valuable Forward of 2016!

Wizards Youth Hockey traveled down to The Hockey Dek - Wallingford, PA this morning to scrimmage the Philly Demons Youth Hockey team led by Jason Kelly and Sal Fiore. For 2 start up youth programs we felt this was critical in helping the kids outside of our normal youth sessions. It was all smiles and excitement from both groups of kids and it was a lot of fun watching the hard work by all volunteers for both programs showing results on the rink. Both sides did an amazing job... considering the short time they've been learning the game. If you are in the Philly area and would like to know more please contact Jason Kelly. Their program generally runs on Saturday mornings. If you are in the Hatfield, PA or surrounding area please contact Dave Reaser. Their clinics are Monday evenings and new season starts in March. The Demons took the first scrimmage 3-2 and the Wizards bounced back in the second scrimmage with a 4-1 win. Jason Kelly, Sal Fiore, Dave Reaser and Christos Sarianos have high hopes for their respective programs and anticipate doing this again soon. Thank you to all the parents that were at the rink this morning showing support and to the additional volunteers that helped on the rink and benches.

Next up in our birthday shout out is the one guy in 2016 who absolutely stood on his head in every tournament he's played not to mention 2 scrimmages against Master's DC team and Men's Team USA. He doesn't say much, he generally just asks, "get me a couple goals", or states "i'm not letting any in today just get me one". And that's exactly what he did in our first ever tournament win. He closed the door on every single shooter, every shot in the ENTIRE tournament. All it took was one goal in 4OT's in which he played the biggest role in capturing our first championship. Busy day here in Wizards Ball Hockey world but this day can't go without a few birthday shout outs. First up today we celebrate the forever young and strong personality of our defensive core. He's fun, he's loving, he does hair in the pool, he blocks shots, he fires bullets from the point, he's always smiling, he rocks the best staches, volunteers time in the youth program and yes, he's an inventor too... check out the beach version of the sauce kit. Can't forget he's a big kid and nobody builds a better lego set then he does. Happy Birthday to our #52 David Foellner
