The very first question when a new client calls is what it cost? (Taxidermy is not a one size fits all price. So many look for the cheapest price before looking further.) What has value to one may not value to someone else. However, there is a distinct difference between doing it right and letting the results speak for theirselves. We put accuracy and details as the upmost importance in every mount. Below is a good read for when searching for prices. ... Https://www.soundbarrierhunting.com//keys-to-getting-a-gre

When searching for a taxidermist be sure to ask about their tanning processes. The conversation is very important to the overall quality and preservation of your mount and is often times overlooked. A tanned hide will go through an actual chemical process converting organic matter into a durable and stable material (leather). Dry preserves or instant tans, are a method of rapid preservation using borax which essentially turns your hide into a rawhide instead of leather. Ta...nned hides are more expensive and time consuming yet they will withstand changes in temperature and humidity for many years. A dry preserved hide is very cheap to produce and very fast to prepare but it will shrink and crack over time as it is merely a preserved skin, not leather. Making an informed choice will help you to understand why some studios have a longer or shorter turn around time and also higher and lower costs. When the hunt is over and you've bagged your trophy consider, do you want a tanned or dry preserved hide for your taxidermy? See more
The key to receiving the best quality in taxidermy begins with field care. Ensuring you keep your trophy refrigerated and prompt delivery to your taxidermist provides the foundation for our success! This mount is a two in one, it is designed to be a table pedestal or a wall hanger depending on whichever the client may choose! It may appear to just be a basic piece of driftwood but a lot of engineering and sculpting went into this habitat to hold both functions and also counter balance the weight of the mount. Many times habitat may be an afterthought, but in this case it helps bring he piece back to life and also provides great functionality!
Many times commercial taxidermy work is produced so quickly that it loses finer details. At Wildlife Arts Studio we work on each mount as if it were for a competition, refining our artistic skills with each piece.
Some super sweet doe eyes! Will share more pictures of this lady tomorrow.
After you have invested countless hours into bagging a trophy of a lifetime be sure your taxidermist invests similarly into a quality work of art. Thank you to all who continue to support our #smallbusiness!
Congrats to Kenneth Fazenbaker on winning the giftcard!
We are drawing the name the for $50 visa card!
Just reminiscing about the time we CUT A BEAR IN HALF.. It made for two awesome mounts for two young hunting buddies!
Process of making rocks. These are both lightweight and much easier to secure in a habitat than a real rock. These can be bought through various supply companies but with the talent we have our preference is to make our own. That makes each piece a truly unique work of art!

Good luck today archery hunters! Shoot straight and be safe!
Small businesses really took a hit this year and we were fortunate enough to have only slight delays instead of a business closure like some. We want to say how much we appreciate our clients and how thankful we are for your patience during this time. We are on to mounting deer and working very hard to get caught up and get these mounts out to their owners! #wildlifeartsstudio #wehavethebestcustomers #smallbusinessowner #taxidermyart #taxidermist #laurelhighlands
We recently finished this coot. Often thought to be part of the waterfowl group. However, they are part of the rail family in the same avian order as cranes. What an interesting bird! What's your favorite bird? Send us your favorite bird pictures in the comments below.
