Yard Waste Collection - December 5 Yard waste must be in biodegradable paper bags or containers that can be dumped. Plastic bags are not accepted. Branches under 3 in diameter must be cut approximately 3 foot in length, bundled and tied, and placed at the curb by 7 AM. No rocks, dirt, mulch, logs, stumps, or ashes will be taken.

The Township office will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 26 and 27. Trash and recycling normally collected on Thursday, November 26 (Thanksgiving Day) will be collected on Friday, November 27. Up to 3 bulk items may also be placed curbside, as this is the last collection of the month for residents east of Shady Grove Way. Election Day - November 3 The Township does not have a ballot drop off box. The Township Building will be open to voters from 7:00AM to 8:00PM on Election Day. Chester County Voter Services announced changes to election polling places. In Westtown Township, Westtown district #2 voters who normally use the Cabin at Westtown School will vote at Westtown-Thornbury Elementary School, located at 750 Westbourne Road. Residents from Westtown district #3 will also still vote at West...town-Thornbury Elementary. Halloween Activities. Westtown Township does not regulate dates or times for Halloween activities. Coordinate trick or treating schedules with your neighbors or contact your homeowner's association for neighborhood guidelines. Due to COVID-19 concerns, some people may not feel comfortable Trick-or Treating this year. Township residents are reminded to please respect neighbors who do not participate in Trick-or-Treating. Standard practice is to turn off your exterior lights if you are not participating. Please exercise caution when driving on Halloween, and follow safe trick or treating practices. PennDOT to Begin Replacement of Route 926 (Street Road) Culvert in Thornbury and Westtown Townships, Chester County. King of Prussia, PA Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, October 12, on a project to replace the structure carrying Route 926 (Street Road) over Radley Run in Thornbury and Westtown townships, Chester County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. Due to the nature of construction, Route 926 (Street Road) will be closed... and detoured 24/7 between New Street and U.S. 202 (Wilmington Pike) beginning Monday, October 12, through the completion of the project scheduled for mid-December. During the closure, Route 926 (Street Road) motorists will be directed to use U.S. 202 (Wilmington Pike) South, Brintons Bridge Road, and Birmingham Road, Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. Commercial Trucks will be directed to use U.S. 202 (Wilmington Pike) South, U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) South, and Route 52 (Lenape Road) North. Built in 1937, the current structure will be replaced with a new box culvert and carries an average of 13,308 vehicles a day. Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, and relevant training. This work is part of seven structures in Bucks and Chester counties that PennDOT is repairing or replacing under a $4,245,232 project financed with 100 percent state funds. C. Abbonzino Contractors, Inc. of Sewell, N.J., is the general contractor on the bridge improvement project. Work on the entire project is expected to be completed in late 2020.
