Well, had things gone according to plan, right about now we'd be gathering in and around the barn for TomStock 2020 after a fun Friday of railfanning, fellowship and food. Oh well, that's the way it goes sometimes. But take heart! TomStock 2020 in 2021 will simply be "One year later, one year better!" IMPORTANT TOMSTOCK 2020 UPDATE - PLEASE READ! As you may have heard on the "Fans of A Modeler's Life #14" podcast, it looks like the time has finally come when we have to be adults here at the ole’ AML headquarters. After several meetings at one of the many Because I Love Sushi locations in the greater Busted Knuckle area, we have decided that this year‘s version of TomStock 2020 will have to be put on hold. Obviously the present situation is not to be taken lightly, so the... most prudent thing to do in the interest of safety is to delay the event until conditions improve and restrictions on gatherings are relaxed. But fear not, AML Nation! TomStock 2020, with Three Days of Peace, Love and Little Trains WILL happen! The NEW dates for TomStock 2020 are July 16 through 18, 2021. Mark your calendars now! Fortunately, we were able to cancel the Disney character parade, fireworks spectacular, Goodyear Blimp and Blue Angels opening ceremonies flyby. Regrettably we were unable to rebook Oscar DeWitt and his dancing seals - they will be missed. Anyone who has registered to attend and submitted their registration fee will receive a full reimbursement of their registration by contacting Secret Agent 0013 a.k.a. the Queso Cowboy. Simply send an email to [email protected] requesting a refund. However, please keep in mind a large portion of the monies collected were already invested in a company located on the outskirts of Albuquerque, New Mexico that specializes in the manufacture of pizza scented lip balm. Getting suited up for Saturday night!

THIS JUST IN!!! The TomStock organizers have made some decisions regarding the itinerary for the festival of "Three Days of Peace, Love and Little Trains!" Read on! FRIDAY, JUNE 26 - A trip to, and a group rail excursion on the Strasburg Railroad in scenic Lancaster County, PA, with time to visit the Strasburg Train Shop. - A visit to Jerry Britton's Pennsylvania RR Middle Division HO layout... - A stop at another hobby shop in the area (TBD) - A stop at a Dairy Queen somewhere in the area - Return to the Reading area for either another layout visit or a tour of the Reading Railroad Heritage Museum (TBD) SATURDAY, JUNE 27 - TOMSTOCK! Fun, festivities and barn time to begin mid-morning and last until late afternoon, or until Deb has had enough and throws us all out. - After TomStock concludes, we'll take a trip to First Energy Stadium in Reading to watch the Reading Fightins' (Phillies' Double-A team) take on the Bowie BaySox. It's "Harry Potter" night, complete with a fireworks display after the game! SUNDAY, JUNE 28 Sunday will be largely self directed. Possible activities at this point are: - Return to Strasburg for a visit to the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania (we won't have time to do this on Friday) where the Reading Co. Technical & Historical Society will have their large HO modular layout set up for "Reading Railroad Days" - Other activities TBD WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU - If you haven't registered and want to attend, REGISTER! When will you be arriving, and what are your attendance plans - the whole weekend, just the picnic, etc. 2. If you're coming for Friday/Saturday, please let us know if you're interested in the Strasburg train ride and the baseball game. This will help us firm up counts and order the necessary tickets. GOOD MORNING AML NATION! Time for this week's TomStock 2020 Update! In the week since the Amherst Railroad Hobby Show (aka Springfield), we've had several additional registrations come in. We are now up to 33 attendees - the same number as the words on a Rolling Rock bottle! The crew here in the Barn is working diligently to make progress on the Crossline to get things ready to entertain our visiting dignitaries, and the AML staff is working on planning a great slate of ...activities for the weekend.
