Why do we talk so much about pregnancy, birth, and the early months/years of life? THIS! Check out this graph from Harvard's Center on the Developing Child and see how many of the neural connections form in the last trimester and first year of life. It's the most important neurological window for the visual and auditory senses, language, and cognitive development. Early on in life is the most vulnerable time for brain development and it's CRUCIAL that these pathways are funct...ioning properly and on schedule. In a nutshell, that's what chiropractic allows to happen. It helps undo the stress and trauma that comes during pregnancy, birth, and early months of life. Which is why it's important not to "wait and see" or hope that your kid will "grow out of" any problems. There is never a point at which change and improvement isn't possible, but the potential is greater and neurological change is a lot easier early in life!
