So several months ago I submitted my full length play of the short version of Not Without Her Stories: Her Service Comes With A Price Too that was most recent...ly produced as a short presentation at The BRIDGE PHL to an organization for Veteran Artists created by Actor, former Marine, Tony and Emmy award winner Adam Driver The organization is called Arts In The Armed Forces! Well my full length version of my play was selected as Semi-Finalist out of 100 submissions and among other distinguished playwrights! Although I didn’t win I STILL WON! I plan to submit again too..I still have some work to do on it and several of my fellow creatives have been a part of the process and journey with me with this body of work that I began in 2015. I was afraid among many other emotions to share it on such a huge and prestigious platform and I am glad I did it! I am now listed on their website... I am excited and thankful for this recognition, and to have a voice and platform regarding some of what women service members experience during their military service! Oh and it was read by the great David Henry Hwang (Final selecting judge) Dear Miss Austin: This year, the Bridge Award's third, Arts in the Armed Forces was delighted to receive nearly 100 submissions from talented, passionate, and skillful writers. We were honored and humbled to have the opportunity to read your words and absorb your stories. Thank you for sharing your play "Not Without Her Stories: Her service comes with a price too" with us. Your entry was exceptional, and among the top submissions received this year. Some decent news I really needed during this crazy time we’re all experiencing!

There are many who are feeling the trauma and affects of COVID-19. Our mental health is also as important as our physical health too...
