What was your favorite part of Santa's World at the Globe Store? The Junior League created this Christmas wonderland from 1980-89, with various theme rooms including Santa's Big Top, Christmas on Sesame Street, Santa's Train Station, the Nutcracker Suite, a Space Odessey, and more. Young visitors were able to see Santa to present their holiday wish list, and shop for gifts in a kids-only store! #dailydiversion

Think photoshopping yourself into a holiday card is a new idea? We found this midcentury gem from- who else?- the Scranton Photo Shop featuring staff members posed in a festive winter scene. Founded by Scrantonian-Tribune photojournalist Tony Sandone (see him in the upper left corner!) in 1946, the shop did commercial photography and sold camera equipment at 322 N. Washington Avenue. #dailydiversion

Here's an Upvalley Christmas-- holiday scenes from Carbondale in 1960, published in the Scrantonian. Festive lights reflect the season from City Hall to the Columbia Hose Company. #dailydiversion
