To comply with Governor Wolf's new COVID-19 mitigation efforts announced on December 10, 2020, the Taylor Community Center will be closed until January 4th, 2020.

Waste Management has advised Taylor Borough that due to the snow that occurred earlier today, some residents' Trash Collection that normally occurs on Wednesday in Central Taylor was not picked up. They have advised us they will return tomorrow and complete any missed pickups from today.

Borough Council along with its employees wishes you and your family a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving. The Municipal Building, Public Works Department, and Taylor Community Center will be closed on Thursday in observance of Thanksgiving. Recycling pickup for Thursday, November 26 will be postponed one day to Friday, November 27. Trash Collection for this week will not be impacted and remains on schedule.

Per Pennsylvania American Water some residents in Taylor may be experiencing dirty water due to a water main break that occurred in Stauffer Industrial Park. Crews are currently making repairs but no time frame has been given for repairs to be complete.

COVID-19 Testing Site Announcement The Pennsylvania Department of Health will open a drive-thru testing site in the parking lot of the former K-Mart on Business Rt. 6 in Dickson City. Testing will be available daily from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM starting Saturday, November 21 through Tuesday, November 24. Testing is on a first-come, first-serve basis and is completely free to all patients. Patients must be ages three and older and are not required to show symptoms of COVID-19 in order to be tested. No appointment is necessary. Patients are encouraged to bring a photo-ID or insurance card. Registration will also be completed on-site. The turnaround time for testing results is two to seven days after testing.

It is with deep sorrow to learn of the passing of former long time Councilman Edward Derenick. Our prayers, thoughts and condolences extend to Eddie’s family and friends. Ed has served our Borough throughout his life in numerous capacities. He was truly an honest, dedicated, hard working man who devoted himself to his family, friends and Taylor Borough. May he Rest In Peace.

Taylor Borough Administrative Offices, Taylor Community Center and Department of Public Works will be closed in observance of the July 4th holiday on Friday, July 3, 2020. There will be no changes to any of the garbage or recycling pickups. Taylor Borough wishes everyone a very safe and happy 4th of July!

The Taylor Community Library is now open with limited service to the public. Current abbreviated hours are: Monday- 9 to 6 Tuesday- 11 to 6 Wednesday- 9 to 6... Thursday- 11 to 6 Friday- 9 to 5 Saturday- 9 to 12:30 Masks are required for entry into the building. Social distancing will be observed inside the building. Occupancy limits will be enforced. Curbside pick-up will be available during open hours. Public computer sessions will be reduced in length to ensure equitable access. If you need more information, ontact the library at 570-562-1234.

Governor Tom Wolf today announced that 12 more counties will move to the green phase of reopening from the COVID-19 pandemic at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, June 26. These counties include Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Erie, Lackawanna, Lancaster, Lehigh, Montgomery, Northampton, Philadelphia and Susquehanna.
