Susquehannock State Park 29.11.2020

This common snapping turtle is laying eggs in the nest that it dug out this morning. On average they lay 20-40 eggs, but can lay up to 100! The eggs will hatch in 3-6 months depending on weather. How cool is that?

This bald eagle was found by a jogger at Prince Gallitzin State Park back in March and was treated for lead poisoning by Centre Wildlife Care. We’re happy to see it could be returned to the park!

The trails of Susquehannock State Park provide a beautiful setting for horseback riding. Several shaded hitching rails for horses are located in the park to accommodate riding clubs and horse-drawn wagons. The Valley Lea Riding Club took advantage of this beautiful Saturday to mount up and explore the trails.
