There's a lot of snow forecasted for most of Pennsylvania in the next few days! And while some may be celebrating our first major snowfall in awhile, you should take this opportunity to ensure your vehicle is safe for the winter months. Do you have an ice scraper in the car already? When was the last time your battery was checked? How does your spare tire look? Some things you should probably keep in your car just in case - a blanket, flash light, road flare/cone, jumper cabl...es, a first aid kit, lock de-icer (maybe you should keep that in the house ) and depending on roads you travel - extra salt and a shovel just in case! One of the biggest safety related things you should check going into this season is the condition of your tires, and their tread depth. One of the most common causes of accidents in the winter months is poor tire condition. For most AWD and 4WD vehicles All-Season tires are more than capable, but they need to have meat on them still if they are going to perform in snow and ice. Don't hesitate to bring your car in if your tires seem to be worn out.
