For that special Currier and Ives Christmas experience, take a ride aboard Strasburg Rail Road’s Christmas Tree Train! Travel by authentic steam train to Leaman Place Grove where you can choose a pre-cut Fraser Fir tree and have it delivered back to the station. Once at Leaman Place Grove, passengers will have approximately one hour to choose and purchase that special Christmas tree. We’ll bale it and you can watch it being loaded on our heritage freight car while enjoying co...mplimentary hot cocoa, a roaring campfire, and the sound of Christmas carols. For those guests riding on the special evening tree trains, the grove will be lit with old-fashioned, Edison-style lighting to illuminate the trees. You and your tree will then be returned to the station where friendly Strasburg Rail Road staff will assist you with loading your tree onto/into your vehicle. New this year: Strasburg Rail Road modified its departure schedule to accommodate designated time to clean and sanitize the train between trips. Each train car’s capacity has been reduced to 50% with no more than 34 Guests on any given train car. In an effort to keep everyone safely apart and reduce the number of performers on the train, our Carolers and Musicians will be singing and performing outside at the Grove.
