In 1531, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to Juan Diego near Mexico City. Mary wanted a church to be built in her name as the Mother of the true God, but the local bishop didn't comply. He requested a sign - roses from Castile, Spain. It was December. They were in Mexico. At the Virgin’s direction, Juan Diego went to the top of a hill & gathered what flowers were there. He returned to the Bishop to present the sign his cloak full of Castilian roses. Even more miraculous..., as his cloak unfolded, the cloak (tilma) revealed an image of the Virgin Mary pregnant with Jesus (pictured below). The cloak of cactus fibers would ordinarily disintegrate within 30 years. Nearly 500 years later, it is intact. The miraculous image cannot be explained by science. In 1945, Pope Pius XII declared Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas. In 1999, Pope JPII declared Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Unborn. "I am your merciful Mother, the Mother of all the inhabitants on this land and all the rest who love me, invoke and confide in me. I truly will listen to their cries and their sadness in order to remedy all their sorrows, their miseries, and their pains." Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us!

Women of St. Thomas More parish! Morning of Reflection for Women You are invited to join a Virtual Morning of Reflection for Women offered by the Allentown Diocese's Commission for Women.... This event will connect women via Zoom on Saturday, October 17th from 9:00AM to 12:30PM for prayer, reflection, and discussion. There will be an opportunity to learn from Christine Fauci-Wittman and Maggie Riggins.
