On Friday, November 20., 2020. at 7:07 o'clock in Military Kovid hospital Karaburma in Belgrade, His Holiness Archbishop of Pec, Belgrade-Karlovac and Serbian Patriarch g. Irinej (Gavrilovic) reposed in the Lord! About all the other details regarding the funeral of His Holiness the Patriarch the public will soon be notified. Eternal remembrance to him and the Kingdom of Heaven! On August 27., 1930., blessed parents of Zdravko and Milijana Gavrilovic from Vidova village ...near Cacak - and with them all Serbian people - God blessed with the birth of a male child who was named Miroslav at baptism. In his home village he graduated from elementary school, and after the Gymnasium in Cacak and theology in Prizren. Then he graduates from the Faculty of Theologian in Belgrade. After the end of the military service, he was appointed as a supplant (professor) of Prizren seminary. Before taking office as professor in October 1959. in Rakovica monastery by Serbian Patriarch Germanic receives monastic rank, getting the monastic name Irinej. On St. Petka's day in the same year in the church Ruzica on Kalemegdan he was ordained in the rank of monk. While he served in Prizren seminary as a professor he was instructed to graduate studies in Athens. He was appointed as the manager of the Monastic School in Ostrog monastery in 1969., from where he returns to Prizren as the rector of the famous Seminary. From that duty in 1974. he was chosen as a vicar of Serbian Patriarch with the title of Bishop Moravicki. He was elected for the bishop of Nis in 1975. At the Holy Archbishop's Assembly of the Serbian Orthodox Church on 22. January 2010. he was elected Archbishop of Pec, Belgrade-Karlovac and Serbian Patriarch. Source: SPC website

Everyone praying there will know that behind those curtains the eyes Mother of God and Lord ...Jesus Christ will be watching them.
