Radio personality and comedian Joe Conklin spoke to Mr. Whelan’s Public Speaking class today about his career in the communications field. Mr. Conklin is the grandfather of Daniel Gibson ‘21.

Today, Mr. Kearney and the Writing Lab hosted Sean Spencer, Director of Content for the Philadelphia 76ers. Spencer discussed his job, including creating content and media for everything affiliated with the team, and how studying writing got him there. #IntellectuallyCompetent #OpenToGrowth

In keeping with the mission of 'For and With Others,' the SJP Mothers’ Club has created handmade Valentines cards for senior citizens. They have created more than 1,000 cards, serving six retirement communities as well as the seniors supported through Gesu Christmas. #SJPServide

Erick Woods P '23, Associate Campus Minister for Ignatian Service, will be a guest on the Saint Joseph's University Athletics Podcast "Bang the Drum" with Head Coach Billy Lange. Woods played basketball for St. Joe's from 1997-2001. St. Joseph’s Prep recently partnered with the Fathers’ Club to embark on the "Desks from Dads" Program, to build and donate 200 desks to Philadelphia students who were learning from home during the pandemic. Many of these students had no designated learning space.

Today marks the start of our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive and The Great Ignatian Challenge. Each year, we at the Prep look forward to this beloved holiday tradition. Moved by God's love and grace, our Prep Community uses this occasion to demonstrate in action Christ's commandment "to love our neighbor." Our Thanksgiving Food Drive is once again part of the Great Ignatian Challenge, as we join with eight fellow Jesuit high schools (Fairfield Prep, Fordham Prep, Xavier HS, St. Peter's Prep, Canisius HS, McQuaid Jesuit HS, The Loyola School, and Regis HS) in a food drive competition intended to raise the students’ awareness of hunger and inspire them to take action by working to fill their local food banks, pantries, and community centers with tens of thousands of pounds of much-needed provisions.
