Pa. announces new restrictions on indoor dining, gatherings Pennsylvania officials on Thursday announced a sweeping new set of coronavirus restrictions, including moratoriums on social gatherings and indoor dining, in effort to get a handle on the massive surge in cases and hospitalizations. The measures will be in place for three weeks, going into effect Saturday and lifting on Jan. 4, and are the strictest restrictions the commonwealth has seen since its stay-at-home order... was gradually lifted in May and June. For the next three weeks, indoor gatherings and events of more than 10 people and outdoor events of more than 50 people will be prohibited across the commonwealth, as will indoor dining at restaurants, Gov. Tom Wolf announced. All K-12 indoor and outdoor sports and extracurricular activities must be halted, he said, and indoor gyms and fitness classes must temporarily shut down. All in-person businesses in the indoor entertainment industry, including theaters, concert venues, museums, movie theaters, and casinos, must also close. Takeout, delivery, and outdoor dining will still be permitted at restaurants, bars, and other dining facilities, Wolf said. Churches, synagogues, mosques, and other places of worship may continue to hold services, though they’re strongly encouraged to celebrate virtually if possible. Retail businesses may operate at 50% capacity, down from 75% capacity

Thank you Anthony!!! We will have a boot available on the sleigh if you would like to help contribute to Anthony's sleigh project. All costs to this point have been out of his own pocket. Shrewsbury Volunteers sadly posts the passing of our most tenured member, Life Member Carl Daehnke. Carl passed away on October 26th. Carl joined our department in 1965 and has served faithfully in many positions. Most importantly, Carl was instrumental in making our annual Firemans Carnival what is is today. The Officers and Members of The Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Company send our condolences to all of Carl's family and loved ones. Rest in Peace Carl, we'll take it from here.

So..... when a person hears the word "beached" they see sand, sun and fun times. Fire department personnel automatically know where this post is going. Today Engine 61-2 was able to provide primary water to a working building fire scene. The engine was beached in soft ground but was able to pump water for hours. Thanks are in order to Rose Fire Co. members who helped move our supply line through trees and a stream and to the fire scene. We are also very appreciative to G...ordon's Towing for pulling Engine 61-2 out of the soft ground with little to no additional damage to the ground. The property owner was on site and aware of what occurred. We are saddened by the loss of the home however it was collapsing on fire department arrival and not safe for interior firefighting. We are thankful no civilians were injured and the pets were rescued. So, remember some beaches aren't all sunshine and happiness ......
