We hope you are all doing well. The COVID-19 pandemic has presented unforeseen challenges for all of us. One of the challenges for us is that the pandemic has changed everyone’s yoga practice and financial circumstances in ways that have diminished our ability to sustain our business. In the last month, 19 people have joined an average of 2.2 live-streaming yoga classes each (42 visits in thirty days). In the same period last year, 107 people joined an average of 4 studio cla...sses (406 visits). Since April, the studio has realized 10% of pre-pandemic revenue, while our rent and other business expenses have only increased, in addition to the new expenses of live-streaming equipment and software. The present realities of our business are not sustainable. To put it simply, live-streaming isn’t working and video-on-demand has yet to show signs of promise. With heavy hearts, we’ve decided that after Saturday’s class, we will no longer live-stream from the studio. We’ll continue to focus our efforts on building a video-on-demand yoga class library, for as long as that makes sense. To sign up for access to our video-on-demand yoga class library, click here: https://www.sarvayogamedia.com/yoga-classes-vod-join.php We don’t know how this pandemic will affect our medium- and long-term future. Ideally, some version of normalcy will return and we can all resume our live, in-studio practice. If that happens, we’d look forward to returning to the work we chose years ago to pursue. We are grateful for each of you, and for the time and practice we have shared with you. We thank you for joining our community. We wish for you all true happiness, peace, and good health. And we hope to one day practice in person with all of you again. Namaste. Lisa & Jack
