For those of you who tuned in to the Mass livestream yesterday or today, we apologize for the connection issues! Our internet service here abruptly slowed Sunday morning and is still having trouble, and we're still not sure why. We're working on the problem and will continue the broadcast schedule as usual.

As we approach August, the Fridays @ 2 concert series will take a holiday beginning this Friday, and will resume again in September. Conditions in the Church at 2 in the afternoon in August must be experienced to be believed! The daily Mass broadcast continues as usual, and we are making every effort to have sung Masses on Feast Days. In August, in addition to Sundays, there will be a sung Mass for the Transfiguration, 6 August; S. Lawrence, 10 August; Assumption B.V.M., 15 August; and S. Bartholomew, 24 August. Please watch here and on the Parish website for continuing updates as we have them.

We had tentatively hoped to open for public worship by the end of July, however this is unfortunately not possible and has been postponed. We are still addressing some areas of concern in the building about safety and also must take into account the preschool that operates out of our attached parish buildings. In addition, we have heard via the weekly clergy meetings that a number of parishes which had already reopened have had to close again for various reasons. Since we would prefer to offer Mass in the Church daily and make it available in some way, it seems that remaining closed while broadcasting is the best avenue presently available. Please stay tuned here and on our website for more updates, and find us daily on Youtube.

Nota bene! Today's scheduled Fridays @ 2 concert will be postponed until next Friday, July 17. We apologize for any inconvenience! Check back next Friday.

Catholics can rejoice over today's Supreme Court ruling, barring discrimination against LGBTQ people in the workplace. As the Catechism of the Catholic Church s...ays, "Every sign of unjust discrimination" should be avoided (#2358). What kind of Catholic would want a gay person to be discriminated against in the workplace? What kind of Catholic would want their brother or sister, or friend or neighbor, who is gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender, to be denied an interview, turned down for a job, passed over for a promotion, or fired from their current position, simply because they were LGBTQ? I worked for several years in human resources and saw first hand the often brutal discrimination that goes on behind closed doors, and saw many times the need for strong and clear protections for women and minorities. Now that legal protection has been extended to LGBTQ employees. And arguments about the Court "redefining sex" are beside the point. These are real-life protections against the real-life dangers that real-life plaintiffs faced because of their sexual orientation and gender identity. In other words, they encountered what the Catechism called "unjust discrimination."

Trinity and Beyond We will continue to be closed for public worship at least until the end of June, but continue the daily Mass broadcast as usual. There was an issue this past Tuesday between our broadcasting equipment and Youtube, subsequently resolved, so although we were broadcasting Youtube did not recognize it and so the broadcast is lost. So far after a very trying week in the City, the only damage suffered was the loss of a street tree in Wednesday afternoon's storm.... Given the westerly winds, it fell into the street without hitting anything, so there isn't any other damage. Please watch here and on our website for changing information.
