Happy Father's Day! This photo was recently taken at our church following a rain storm. God our heavenly Father has told us that the rainbow would be fixed in the sky as a reminder to us of His promise never to destroy the world by a great flood again. At all of the Masses this weekend, Fr. Petro will impart a blessing on all fathers present. Food preparation for our July 31 picnic is set to begin. Please see the bulletin this weekend for all of the new picnic information! Click here for the bulletin: https://sacredheartdupont.com/wp-cont//2021/06/6-20-21.pdf

We are proceeding with plans to purchase permanent hardcover hymnals for our church. This hymnal, called the Credo Hymnal, is published by International Liturgy Publications in Nashville, Tennessee. A sample copy of the Credo Hymnal will be available for your inspection on the small table upon which the offertory gifts are placed near the church entrance. We are asking for your support to facilitate the purchase of these new hymnals. Please consider sponsoring a hymnal fo...r a $25 donation. These hymnals will be memorialized with a donor name plate on the inside cover of each hymnal. You may complete the form printed in this Sunday's bulletin and return it to the parish office with your donation. We plan to order approximately 250 hymnals, so there is a finite number of memorial donations that we can accept. These paintings of the Lamb of God and the Cross and Crown of Jesus Christ the King were uncovered on our sanctuary walls when the church was renovated in 2018. They were removed from the wall and placed together in this frame by one of our parishioners. They now are on display in our church hall. The Church celebrates the Solemnity of Christ the King on Sunday, Nov. 22. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will begin after the 8:30 a.m. Mass and continue until the beginni...ng of the 10:30 a.m. Mass. The Feast of Christ the King is a day when we focus on Christ reigning, enthroned in heaven, King of Heaven and Earth for all time. It reminds us that Jesus is the source and center of our lives. This day also marks the end of our liturgical year. The following Sunday we begin anew with the First Sunday of Advent. Did you know that Pope Pius XI instituted this feast in 1925 to respond to growing nationalism and secularism? He recognized that these related societal ills would breed increasing hostility against the Church. The Feast of Christ the King reminds us that while governments and philosophies come and go, Christ reigns as King forever. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL! Free 2021 liturgical calendars are now available. These calendars, printed by the Catholic Church Extension Society, benefit the Church’s missionary efforts in the United States. They have been generously donated to Sacred Heart of Jesus Church by the Lokuta-Zawacki Funeral Home, Dupont. These beautiful Devotions to Our Lady calendars feature each month artistic images of how we pray the rosary. They list all solemnities, feasts and memorials... of the liturgical calendar as well as the color of the vestments worn each day, the days of fast and abstinence, and the holy days of obligation. Every Catholic household should have one! The oplatki, the traditional Eastern European Christmas Eve wafers, will be blessed during the 4 pm Mass on Nov. 28. As is our custom, the oplatki and the calendars will be distributed in the church hall immediately following each Mass that weekend to mark the start of Advent. The offering is $2 per envelope for the wafers. Click here for all of the Sunday announcements: https://sacredheartdupont.com//uploads/2020/11/11-29-20.pdf See more
