So much to be Thankful for this past year we produced just shy of 1,000 floral share bouquets alone! Pictured here are just 10 of our most recent weeks. Now it’s cleanup time and time to prepare for the next season, it’s an unending cycle. Jason spent Thanksgiving putting our 4,000 tulips in for spring harvesting and finishing up those and the hyacinth today. We will also tuck some into our hoop house. We still have some calla lilies to dig. Our dahlias and tuberose are dug.... Peonies trimmed back. Our ranunculus and anemones are planted in trays and sprouting in the hothouse as we speak, to get them ready to plant out in the hoop. Always thinking ahead and trying our best to have lots of variety. We are thankful for our local support and for getting to provide all the flowers that we can to you from spring though fall. We make the decision to stick to our guns, since the foundation of our business is seasonal and locally grown. Apricot Whirl Daffodils were our week #3. These are fluffy and soft and remind me of fabric. Can’t wait for all that spring has to offer. We typically don’t flower until end of March, but that doesn’t mean we are just twittling our thumbs over the winter. Butterfly ranunculus went into the hoop house yesterday, while Jason prepared another row for our second round of ranunculus to go in. We will start our second round of seed trays tomorrow as well... always something up on the to do list! Second wave of paperwhites just started to bloom a few days ago, just when I needed them most. It’s been a strange week in our country, but sadly not surprising. We need to all look deep within ourselves. Use this winter as a time of reflection and renewal. Hopefully change is on the horizon. I’m looking forward to springs awakening this year now more than ever. Which is what I love most about nature... you get a chance to start over, as the cycle begins again. Some things might make it through and flourish but others won’t. We should all take that as a lesson in life.

That’s the number of bouquets we sent out to our share holders this season... not including individual bouquet sales weekly at the farm, @westreadingfarmersmarket and @dundoreheister (that number I haven’t gotten around to tallying yet). But our hearts are so full. It meant so much to us to almost triple our shares amidst such a trying time. And gave us purpose for all we have been striving for... to bring the beauty of local flowers to your homes. Flowers bring joy and ...carry so many emotions...We were touched by all of you who shared them with others. We are already filling slots for our 2021 season much sooner than usual, so I might have to cap it this year! But I want to again share a little something for our gratitude... Any shares purchased from now until 12/21 for the holidays will receive a paperwhite gift from us... We have printed certificates we will have ready for you as well.
