Looking back on 2020 our team worked together to reinvent many aspects of the Department. From health screenings for personnel, disinfecting procedures for apparatus, social distancing policies in station, virtual tours to stay engaged with the community, developing online training modules for our team, rolling out custom training platforms for our community partners, all while RFD posted the busiest year ever for call volume. Thank you for standing beside our team embracing #OneTeamOneMission for every step of 2020.

The year 2020 is certainly one we as a Department, community, and world won't soon forget. 2020 also held some great moments for our team and thanks for Firefighter/Videographer Adam Alberico of Alberico Productions we take a look back at the past year. A special thank you to the Spring-Ford Area Historical Society for providing some great photos of our past!
Thank you Montgomery County Department of Public Safety and Penn Medicine for putting EMS providers first to receive this vaccine #OneTeamOneMission
Happy Saturday everyone! We know that some of you have already visited your local farms and tree lots to pick out that PERFECT tree! Many of you will do the sa...me this weekend, so we wanted to share this short video about tree safety reminders during this holiday season. #1 Please make sure to check and inspect all lights and wires before hanging them up. Remember to never overload outlets or surge protectors. #2 Remember the 3-foot rule. Make sure that your tree is at least 3-feet from any heat source. #3 Be sure to check and water your tree daily, trees love to drink LOTS of water! ** Always remain prepared with a PLAN. In the event of a fire, make sure you and your family have at least TWO ways out, a designated MEETING spot, and please remember that once you're out, STAY OUT! We would also like to give a huge THANK YOU to Collegeville Car Wash & PV Express Lube & Auto for sponoring this video for your Spring Valley Risk Reduction Team! Your Spring Valley Risk Reduction Team relies on community partners and stakeholders, such as Collegeville Car Wash and PV Express Lube & Auto, to help us reach out to you, our community members! Enjoy the video! #oneteamonemission #fireiseveryonesfight

EMS crews from the Ches-Mont border made an appearance at Chester County Hospital today due to the local hospitals in the area being at capacity. This decision to transport to a further hosptial helps to spread the demand on the healthcare system and ease the burden on one specific area or region. This is the reality facing our healthcare system. Hospitals and Emergency Medical Services are stretched thinner than ever before. While we absolutely hear and respect your requests... to go to your preferred local hosptial, they may be in a position where care will be greatly delayed due to volume or acuity of their patients. Friendship Ambulance and RFD are committed to always do what's in the best interest of our patient's care and safety. Our providers will work with you to find a reasonable solution, which may include transporting to a further, non-traditional destination for our team. #OneTeamOneMission See more
Mark your calendars! RFD will be providing special transport for the big guy in red!
Our red RFD mailboxes are up and ready to accept your donations for Operation Nine Reindeer, Inc. and our mission to support a Spring-Ford family with America's Favorite Santa leading the charge collecting gift cards. Think groceries, big box stores like Target & Walmart, Wawa for gas and quick snacks traveling to and from Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, and any amount is amazing! These mailboxes are located at both our Walnut & Green Street stations with dona...tions being collected daily. These mailboxes are under video surveillance at both stations in case The Grinch decides to show up and try to ruin Christmas. You can also make an online donation via our website (www.rfd98.org) by clicking the Donate link on the left side of the page. Please enter a comment in the payment information indicating your donation is for Operation Nine Reindeer. If using a mobile device you will need to go to the desktop version on your device as the Donate link does not show up on the mobile version. We're asking for your help to bring Christmas magic to one of our own. Thank you for always answering the call and thank you for making this community second to none! #OneTeamOneMission
