Mercury will be retrograde in Scorpio from October 13th - November 3rd. Yes, U.S. Election Day! I’m predicting there will ...be a lot of drama surrounding the final outcome of the election this year...but let’s not go there right now! When Mercury goes Retrograde, the devil is in the details. Communicating with others without extreme attention and forethought can cause things to go awry really quickly. It’s advisable to not commit to binding contracts at this time, and if you MUST travel, to triple check your itinerary plans...and still leave room for delays. Erin from @tbhmagic is back again and this time she's sharing everything you need to know about SHADOW WORK. This frequently used, but often elusive term, is something Ritual Shoppe owner Angela was excited to discuss with Erin, and she even offered up her birth information so they could dig a bit deeper. Here's a sneak peak from the blog: "Funny enough, like a bunch of other witchy concepts, shadow work can trace its roots back to psychology. Carl Jung, viewed... by many as the father of psychology, was the first to conceive the concept of the shadow self. He referred to the word shadow when describing the hidden parts of our being. He likened the shadow to parts of ourselves that we repress because they make us feel sad or wounded in some way. According to Jung, Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate. Now, Jung was no astrologer, but he was keenly aware of human behavior, so that we have in common! His ideas about shadow work deeply inform my own views and I share his belief that acknowledging and integrating our shadow side is the best way to live a balanced and truly fulfilling life. ...There are several astrological placements that can aid in uncovering the shadow work you need to do, but I generally like to start with locating the Sun and Chiron within the birth chart."
