This artwork illustrates that corruption is the root cause for the major problems afflicting societies today. It's interactive, go to http://www.repatriationgroup.org/corruption-tree/ and click on each branch of evil to view a sample of the articles and reports substantiating the impact of corruption for that sector.

Many people express skepticism about whether it is really possible to curb corruption in countries with strong entrenched interests that thrive on it. Corruption fighters usually respond that it comes down to "political will" and public support. In the corruption book we are writing, we are collecting examples of how it is being done, such as in Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Guatemala, and Brazil (Petrobas). The most recent example is summarized in the October 15, 2016 edition of the Economist, http://www.economist.com//21708735-new-law-aims-curb-gifts. Korea is cracking down on age old practices of gift giving to government officials after the 2014 ferry collapse that killed 250 high school students, and has been blamed on cozy ties between businessmen and bureaucrats.

At RGI, we usually focus on the weightier issues regarding corruption, money laundering and terrorism. Corruption is at the root of many of the evils afflicting the planet from the extinction of the Sumatran tiger to the deaths of thousands in Syria. Our work is serious. Good governance, a strong judicial system, transparency - all are vital to the health and well-being of people everywhere. Today, we are happy to announce that we will be sponsoring a more light-hearted even...t - one that celebrates good will and the human spirit of laughter. All people know the universal language of laughter - it builds bridges between us, instead of putting up walls. RGI is delighted to be sponsoring the Philadelphia Area-World Laughter Day 2016 Celebration on Sunday, May 1st from 2:00-3:00 PM at Rose Tree Park's Amphitheater in Media, PA 19063. Institutions like the Mayo Clinic and the US Navy have found that laughter really is the best medicine - it relieves stress and builds immunities. World Laughter Day was started by the founder of Laughter Yoga, Dr. Madan Kataria, who created Laughter Yoga in 1995. So this marks its 21st Anniversary. Dr. Kataria discovered that you don't need jokes to start laughing. All you have to do is get together with a few people and it takes off naturally with the help of simple exercises. His discovery spread like wildfire - there are now over 6000 laughter clubs in 105 countries. All of a sudden people are getting healthier just by laughing, really laughing. Come join us for some FREE laughter wellness and help lighten up the Philadelphia area. Please RSVP here: http://www.meetup.com/Laughter-Yoga-Club-Delaware-County//
