Happy World Quaker Day! This project of gathering monthly quotes was begun on this day two years ago. As we bring this offering to a close, we’d like to share a passage from the Kabarak Call for Peace and Ecojustice. THE KABARAK CALL FOR PEACE AND ECOJUSTICE WAS APPROVED ON 24 APRIL 2012 AT THE SIXTH WORLD CONFERENCE FRIENDS, HELD AT KABARAK UNIVERSITY NEAR NAKURU, KENYA. IT IS THE CULMINATION OF THE FWCC (FRIENDS WORLD COMMITTEE FOR CONSULTATION) WORLD CONSULTATION ON GLO...BAL CHANGE WHICH WAS HELD IN 2010 AND 2011. We have shared the epistle in its entirety along with all past quotes on our website: https://www.quakerhistory.org/quakerquotes Image description: Sunset with the quote, "We dedicate ourselves to let the living waters flow through us where we live, regionally, and in wider world fellowship. We dedicate ourselves to building the peace that passeth all understanding, to the repair of the world, opening our lives to the Light to guide us in each small step." Edward Grubb spent much of his life trying to reconcile intellectualism with his faith in God. He never gave up on either, writing hymns, and focusing on social concerns. He became influential in uniting and supporting conscientious objectors during World War I in his native Britain. Trouble of soul can teach us things that raptures never could not only patience and perseverance, but humility and sympathy with others. ~Edward Grubb, Quaker Peace Activist, 1854-1939...
