The local Fox TV channel did a brief report on the spotted lanternfly workshop.

PNERCD held a workshop on the spotted lanternfly on October 18 in Drums, PA at the Butler Township Municipal Building. A large, interested crowd of attendees heard about the invasive bug and its risks to the region. Two speakers, Krystal Snyder, Penn State Extension, and Kristen Cease, PA Dept. of Agriculture, did excellent jobs of describing the problems and possible solutions. A number of truckers stayed after the meeting to obtain permits to travel commercially in and out of the fourteen currently quarantined counties. Luzerne Conservation District co-sponsored the meeting. Pennsylvania Department also sponsored the program and US NRCS provided funding.
