When our volunteers decide to clean out the freezer, they are committed enough to get in it to "really clean it." Haha!

Prayer for 2021 Philipians 1:9b-12a ...We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,[e] 10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, 12 and giving joyful thanks to the Fathe...r Father, we come before you as your church and as individual members of the larger body, and we thank you for your unfailing faithfulness and your unwavering love toward us. 2020 has been a year of so much change, loss, and disappointment. We pray that you would help us to accept things that have changed forever this past year. Help us to grieve the losses of family, friends, situations, traditions, and even the loss of our own expectations. We thank you that you have brought us through this past year and that you are giving us an opportunity for a fresh start as we begin a new year. Father, we come out of agreement with the religious spirit and the spirit of control, and we surrender completely to you and to your Holy Spirit. We take our hands off. We stop trying to make things happen in our own strength and wisdom, hoping that you will bless our plans and the work of our hands. We come to you and ask, What are you doing, Father? How do we get to participate in what you have planned? We remember that this is your church, and that we GET TO partner with you. We surrender our thoughts, our wills, our emotions, and our plans to you, the Author and Finisher of our faith, and we ask that you bring us into complete alignment with your thoughts, your will, your emotions, and your plans. Help us to surrender what we think the church should look like, what we believe worship looks like, and what we think our lives should look like, and to say to you, Have free reign in our hearts. We come to you with an eager expectation for what you want to do in us and through us in 2021. Help us to say, We surrender all. Have your way in our church! We can’t wait to see what you will do! In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Homemade Gifts I can't say I have one particular gift that is my favorite. My cherished gifts are the homemade ones, made with love for me. Both my children, when they were young, and now my grandchildren are so happy to give the special gifts they made by themselves, and I love receiving them. Some people may not appreciate a crazy clay turtle candy dish, or a wooden duck, or a plate with little handprints on it, but I love them. My house is decorated with cardboard flower...s, paper hearts and painted rocks. And, yes, my refrigerator is covered in pictures made for me by precious little hands. This makes me think of all the wonderful little "free gifts" we receive from God: from the amazing new buds of flowers in the spring, to the feel of the warm sun on our faces in summer, the breathtaking colors of the leaves in autumn, and even the glistening of the new fallen snow in winter. God has made so many wonderful things that will bring us so much joy if we just take the time to enjoy them! We need to stop finding all the negative things in this world and SEE the positive. God's greatest gift to us is his love and salvation. What could be a more wonderful gift! ~ Gloria Rager BRC - Revelation 20-22

A Gift from God The greatest gift from God I have ever received is His grace and mercy. Some time ago I was not living my life actively seeking God. I had my own idea that as long as I wasn’t getting arrested, I was doing pretty well in God’s eyes. Well, some of my choices added a lot of stress to my life and ultimately led to a time of depression. It got to a point where I had ask myself, When was the last time you can remember being truly ‘not a worry in the world’ happy?... I thought about it a while and remembered coming back from National Youth Conference almost 10 years prior. I was truly happy, but I had to think about what was so different now. I still talked and hung out with the same friends, enjoyed the same activities. So what was missing? Then it hit me. I was refreshed by being around so many people for a few weeks that were so excited to worship and learn about Jesus. I had made my mind up at that point to start new again. I prayed a new prayer. Lord, please guide me in where and what I am to do. I had just moved to Benshoff Hill and didn’t know many people from my new neighborhood. My neighbors, Pete and Donna Smith, as well as Jack and Carol Harrison, invited me to come and worship at the church just down the road. It took a few weeks, but the Lord kept calling me to go. The rest is history. He had to allow me to struggle for me to turn my heart back to Him. The grace and mercy He gave me allowed me to come back home to Him. His home is full peace and happiness when you fully rely on Him and seek His will for you. ~ Dan Kiser BRC - Revelation 17-19
