The Councilman’s amendment to the City’s 2021 budget is a multi-million dollar reinvestment in these priorities: affordable housing, small business and Main Street support, and infrastructure work.

Councilman O'Connor will introduce a budget amendment to allocate approximately $4.1 million more to affordable housing, small business support programs, the Avenues of Hope Initiative, and Complete Streets projects Hazelwood. Many Pittsburghers are living in fear of losing their housing, and we are bracing ourselves for a flood of evictions when the Federal and State eviction moratoriums expire. Not only that, but countless Pittsburgh establishments restaurants, bars, sto...res, and venues have permanently closed due to the economic hardships of 2020, and many more businesses are on the verge of collapse. It is the City's responsibility to do everything we can to offer protection to those hit hardest by the economic devastation caused by the pandemic. The Pennsylvania Department of Health has announced new measures to counter the spread of Covid-19 that'll take effect on Saturday, December 12.

Under the leadership of its Department of Public Safety and the guidance of the Allegheny County and Pennsylvania Departments of Health and the Centers for Disease Control, the City of Pittsburgh is taking multiple steps to try to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Contractor crews for Pittsburgh Water & Sewer Authority are working on a water main on Murray Avenue at Welfer Street in Greenfield today. Residents on Murray (Flemington Street Lilac Street) and Welfer (Murray Avenue Beechwood Boulevard) may experience no or low water pressure until 4 p.m.
