Here's proof that most non venomous snakes do not want to hurt you. I rescued this big guy off the road today. The BIGGEST rat snake I ever caught. And I've been catching them a LONG time. I've been bitten a couple times when I pick them up too fast (on a road in a hurry) but usually they just let me pick them up. I spent FIVE MINUTES with this 6 foot rat snake, and this was the end result. I even took him to see my daughter at a birthday party, and showed him off to a few cu...rious kids. Don't kill what you don't understand!
