We saw the video below shared by NOCC - Del Val and had to share it with all of you. Joanna Montgomery gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and then five days later found out the mass on her fallopian tube, discovered during birth, was an aggressive form of cancer. That was December 2011. CafeMom Studios follow her incredible journey as she not only fights this disease but experiences all of the joys (and exhaustion) new motherhood has to offer. Please show your support to spreading gynecologic cancer awareness by liking and sharing the link with others and subscribing to YouTube channel - CafeMom Studios to follow Joanna's story <3

Penn OCRC has partnered with StoreMyTumor to allow patients ownership of her own tumor tissue gathered at the time of surgery. Program participants now have the ability to take part in multiple therapeutic options that they otherwise would not be able to take advantage of if, for instance, their tissue had been discarded or not preserved properly at the time of surgery. StoreMyTumor secures, transports, processes, and stores each patient's tumor in multiple formats making i...t easier for patients to access her tumor tissue for treatment at any given time. For more information, please call 267-702-5501 or visit http://www.storemytumor.com/

Clinical Trials Principal Investigator, Janos L. Tanyi, MD PhD joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Division of Gynecologic Oncology as an Assistant Professor in 2011. His clinical research focuses on the identification of transcriptional and translational differences associated with the presence or absence of antitumor immune response in ovarian cancer. Dr. Tanyi received his medical degree at the University of Debrecen, Medical and Health Sciences Cent...er in Hungary, summa cum laude. He completed his residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, and subsequently, a gynecologic oncology fellowship at Penn Medicine. The Ovarian Cancer Research Center (OCRC) has treated 15 patients enrolled in the vaccine clinical trial. Each patient receives a personalized vaccine developed from the patient’s own tumor and blood cells. This vaccine uses a new and unique platform, which was developed in the OCRC laboratory and introduced for patient care by the OCRC clinical team. We are pleased to announce the opening of a third trial, which combines chemotherapy, anti-angiogenic therapy and vaccine therapy. We believe that this combination will prove to be synergistic and therapeutically powerful. Patients will the have the ability to maximally benefit from these three agents in combination. For information about our ovarian cancer immunotherapy clinical trials, please contact our Clinical Team 215-615-7447 or email [email protected]
