So I know I could have seeded these earlier, but there is still plenty of time to grow these and enjoy their beauty well into the fall. This time of year germination happens faster and getting to flowering time can be shortened too. These can be a fun and rewarding project for kids. Look at how well these peas and sprouts have done. The peas were seeds I put in 6 weeks ago that the dog dug up once so I wasn't sure that any survived. Very resilient! The brussel sprouts have really become a family favorite and are going to be transplanted so they have more room to grow. Something to keep in mind when growing brussel sprouts is that you can leave them on the stalk well into the fall and winter as the colder temps will actually sweeten their flavor.
