Ohio Township Police Department 27.12.2020

On the evening of Friday, Dec 11th, 2020, the two males in th attached video were captured vandalizing the township Christmas Tree in the Gazebo next to the township building. We believe the two males may be local and are requesting assistance in identifying these males. We understand the images of their faces are poor, it's the clothing and direction they head after that may lead someone to be able to idenifty these males. Any information to their identity can be submitted ...through one of the follwing methods; [email protected] or via Allegheny County 911 nonemergency number 412/473-3056 and request a phone call from an officer 24/7.

*** UPDATE *** Due to the rise in Covid-19 cases. This event has been postponed.

Ohio Township Police Department 02.12.2020

UPDATE: Due to the spiking COVID rate in Allegheny County, the Sheriff’s Office will cease all walk-in license to carry applicants and postpone the Saturday, No...vember 21, 2020 license to carry event in Ohio Township. We will continue to service applicants via appointment-only at the Sheriff’s Office at the Allegheny County Courthouse. Please be aware that appointments are currently booked through April 1st. We will extend appointments into April only if necessary or we will reopen to walk-ins before such need arises. The decision was made after the county-wide report this weekend of unprecedented cases and the closing of the hosting township’s school district last week. By no means was this an easy decision, however, as law enforcement officers, we are duty-bound to ensure the safety of the general public. Events such as Saturday's can attract an upward of 500 applicants which would cause a very hazardous environment for applicants, Sheriff’s Office personnel, and the first responders of the Ohio Township Police Department and Volunteer Fire Company, who were assisting in putting together this event. Again, this is not a cancellation of Saturday’s event, as we do plan to return as soon as we can provide a safe environment for all. In addition, we will re-open the Courthouse Firearms facility to walk-ins once the COVID rate declines. For updates on the license to carry firearms status, please visit the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office social media and website. ORIGINAL POST: On Saturday, November 21st, the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office is joining the Ohio Township Volunteer Fire Company and the Ohio Township Police Department to host a satellite license to carry event at the Ohio Township Volunteer Fire Company from 8:00AM through 3:00PM. Applicants must wear a mask and practice social distancing to safeguard health and safety restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, applicants should arrive with their completed application, valid PA driver’s license or ID and $20 cash. Project D.U.M.P. (Disposal of Unused Medications Properly) will also be onsite for citizens with any unused or expired medications. For more information regarding Project D.U.M.P and the license to carry process, please check our website and social media platforms.

We were a few days late on getting this out. Thank you so much to Lisa from Batter and Dough in Bridgeville for dropping off these really good cupcakes from her bakery this past Sunday!

Cornell School District Bus Schedule.

Ohio Township Police Department 21.10.2020

Greetings Residents! It's that time of year when our kids take to the bus stops and head off to school. Granted, this year will be unlike any other year before, so we want to make you aware of this year's School bus schedule. Please use caution when traveling our roads as there will be many more buses on the roads making pickups and drop-offs. Our Officers will be out and following school buses to look for any unsafe drivers. School for Avonworth will begin on September 1st. Quaker Valley School District will resume classes starting on September 8th. Cornell School District will begin on September 3rd. We will be posting those bus schedules in the near future.
