UPDATE FROM NORTHERN CENTRAL RAILWAY: Due to the new PA COVID-19 restrictions, we will be unable to run any excursions for the remainder of the year. Our last excursions will be Friday, December 11, 2020. If you purchased a ticket for any of the cancelled excursions, we will transfer those ticket costs to a gift certificate for future use, or offer a full refund if requested. You may also DONATE YOUR TICKET COSTS to Northern Central Railway as a tax deductible charitable dona...tion. The business office will also remain closed, however we are monitoring our phones and will return calls as soon as we are able. The Northern Central Railway is excited to spread some joy and happiness this holiday season by participating in the York County Economic Alliance's Light Up Your Lot event! Despite the pandemic limiting our ability to gather in person this year, the York County Economics Allinace's Light Up Your Lot event is here to show that the holiday spirit is still alive and well in YoCo...! YCEA has asked local businesses and nonprofits to help create a unique YoCo holiday video by submitting images and videos of their holiday decor. The video will premier on December 18th at 6pm. In addition to being part of a holiday video, YCEA will also recognize outstanding decorations in several award categories. The winner of each category will receive a fun YoCo prize pack! I don’t know what it is about trains, but I am drawn to them. It could be that when I was a kid my dad drove my grandparents to Florida then we took the train home and vice versa in the spring. When I was at the Northern Central Railway a couple of Sundays ago the weather was perfect and the staff was friendly and professional. The person on the mic was easy to hear and understand. I was fascinated with the 500-million-year-old rocks and the history behind this railroad line.... All in all, it was a terrific experience.
