In honor of October being Domestic Abuse Awareness month, we would like to share the beautiful non-profit organization that was developed in memory of Morgan McCaffery, ’20 ~ Morgan’s Light. The mission of Morgan’s Light is to educate teens on warning signs of a toxic relationship and to raise awareness, as well as provide resources, to teens and families struggling with domestic violence. Nazareth Academy High School is proud to partner with Morgan’s Light and look forward to working together to honor Morgan’s legacy and putting an end to domestic violence.

Congratulations to Casey Stone ’24 who was recognized by Fox Chase Cancer Center for her fundraising efforts on behalf of Traci’s Tribe. As co-chair of Traci’s Tribe, she helped raise over $52,000, exceeding her initial goal of $15,000. Traci’s Tribe, a nonprofit, was founded by a group of three women, including Casey’s mother Kim, who is a nurse at Fox Chase, and their children, with the help of another 20 women. It was formed in memory of Traci DiStefano. We are so proud of your philanthropic work, Casey!

During the second week of Advent, our Gospel focuses on John the Baptist’s challenge: Prepare the way of the Lord. In the Bible passages for this second week of Advent, we hear John the Baptist repeating those words of Isaiah the prophet. They both remind us that we should work to make straight our own paths and to focus on the areas in which we can improve. Help us, Lord, to remember that we were baptized for a reason. Help us realize our baptismal call to live as children of God. Amen!

Looking for donations of coats & books! Holy Family University and the Frankford Northeast Philadelphia Rotary Club will be hosting a Drive-By Coat and Book Donation Collection to help those in need in the local communities. Donated coats, new and slightly used, are being collected for both adults and children.
