Half of our officers started their careers under the watchful eyes of Chief Jordan. They and many others owe a debt of gratitude to him for being a mentor, an example and a friend. RIP Chief Tony Jordan.

***UPDATE: Thanks to a helpful citizen, we think the below picture is what the logo on the back of the Suspect’s hoodie looks like, along with writing in the sleeves. It appears to be a tiger (or cat of some kind) with the word Tokyo to the right of it. It definitely should be recognizable to someone out there. If you have any information that may help with this investigation, please call... 570-966-1027. On 01/05/2021 at approximately 9:36pm, an unknown actor entered t...he Quik Shop (Sunoco gas station) located at 58 East Chestnut Street and displayed a knife, demanding money. It is not known if the actor fled the scene on foot or by vehicle. Assisted on scene by Buffalo Valley Regional Police and the Pennsylvania State Police. Anyone with information is asked to call the Mifflinburg Police Department at 570-966-1027, investigating Officer Jackson Stroup.

As preparations begin for the possibility of Wednesday’s winter storm, the Mifflinburg Police Department and Borough Crew ask the public for their assistance and patience. Please assist us by making sure that your vehicles are not parked on public streets (especially on any Snow Emergency routes) and use any private off-street parking you have available, to aid us in our snow removal efforts. As a reminder, it is prohibited by Borough Ordinance to shovel, push, throw, or plow snow from a sidewalk, driveway, lot, or any other area into the street. Please be patient as we work to remove snow with reduced staffing due to Covid-19 related quarantines. We plan to work as quickly and efficiently as possible and apologize for any inconveniences that may occur. Be safe out there!

A little unusual occurrence today in the Borough as reports came in of a steer loose along Chestnut St. The animal was corralled by Borough Crew workers, EMS, and Police and lead to a nearby fenced yard. It was later learned the bull made his escape from an enclosed trailer while being transported to the Middleburg Livestock Auction. The owners eventually returned to take possession of him.
