There’s always time for another Senior Spotlight! Today we turn our attention to Mylo Caudill! Mylo has been a member of the Writing & Publishing department for the last five years. Though Mylo spent most of his time this year with the Media Department, pursuing his love of filmmaking, we will always count him as one of our own! Mylo’s work has appeared recently in Pulp, and this year he was Head Writer for Ensemble Immersion. He has also spent time as a staff member for ...SMG, heading up The Siren Sound, a monthly podcast, and reporting for The Siren. Mylo became interested in screenwriting early on in his career at Lincoln Park, and spent much of his junior and senior years working on short films with the Media Department. After graduation, Mylo will be heading down to Georgia to attend The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) to major in Film and Television. Mylo, it’s been so much fun working with you these past five years, and it’s been such a joy to see you pursue your interdisciplinary interests! We are wishing you all the best, and we are so excited to see what you’ll create next! #lppacs #classof2020 #lincolnpark

Today we shine the Senior Spotlight on another beloved member of the W&P Class of 2020: Jordan Horter! Jordan has spent the past two years as a Writing & Publishing major, coming to Lincoln Park from Freedom, PA. Jordan is well-known around the department for her wry sense of humor, and her writing reflects it too; it’s something that we will dearly miss about her! A love for journalism guided Jordan’s senior year, and she served as both staff photographer and reporter f...or the Siren Media Group (SMG). She wrote two regular columns for The Siren app: one about comic book news, and the other all about conspiracy theories. Are reptilians running the government? Is Walt Disney’s head cryogenically frozen? When you have questions like these, Jordan is the one with all the answers! After graduation, Jordan will be taking a gap year, and will spend that time considering her career options. Her ultimate goal is to find a career that helps people, and those people - whoever they may be - will be very lucky indeed to have Jordan on their side. Congratulations, Jordan - we have loved having you as a part of the W&P department, and we are wishing you all the best, always, in the years to come! #lppacs #lincolnpark #classof2020

Today we continue our Senior Spotlight series with the one and only Melia Lenkner! Melia comes to us from Greenville, PA. She joined the Writing & Publishing department in the fall of 2018, and though she’s only been with us for two years, it feels like it’s been much longer, for all good reasons. Melia truly made the most of her senior year by serving on the staff of BatCat Press, SMG, and Pulp, and by contributing to Ensemble Immersion’s writing team. She was also a frequ...ent reader at LAVA events throughout her time at Lincoln Park, and came to help out at department events throughout the year. Melia is a brilliant writer, and has the credits to show for it: she is the 2020 winner of the Candace Gay Essay Award through the Youngstown State University English Festival, and her work can currently be read in Persephone’s Daughters, Sonder Midwest, The Lindenwood Review, and pacificREVIEW, with more pieces forthcoming elsewhere. Melia is also well-known around the department for being an outstanding editor and technician, always willing to share her expertise with her fellow students. After graduation, Melia plans to disappear into the wilderness, an act she has been practicing for in sand dunes across the nation. We are quite certain that she will re-emerge one day soon, refreshed and renewed, with new writing to share - the only question is when, and where? We shall wait and see! Melia, thank you for all that you have contributed to our department and community! We are so grateful for the past two years, and we are wishing you all wonderful things for the future. Congratulations! #lppacs #classof2020 #lincolnpark

Today’s Senior Spotlight is all about Steviee Geagan! Steviee comes to Lincoln Park from Butler, PA, and has been a part of the Writing & Publishing Department since the fall of 2017. He is the fiction editor of Pulp, and is a staff member for both BatCat Press and SMG. He writes the monthly Face the Music column for The Siren, and is co-author of the Schoodles comic. This year, Steviee’s work received some well-deserved recognition, first in the form of an honorable men...tion in Roadrunner Review’s High School Writing Contest. Some of his recent work can be read in Brilliant Flash Fiction and Volney Road Review, and more pieces are forthcoming elsewhere. In addition to writing, Steviee enjoys making self-proclaimed tone-deaf music and adventuring with his beloved sidekick, Lil Frank. After graduation, Steviee will be taking a six-month gap before attending Penn State University to major in Creative Writing. In the interim, he plans to travel south to Dallas, TX, and Atlanta, GA, to visit family and to work. Steviee, we are wishing you all the best in your travels. Thank you for spending the last three years with us - they have truly been a joy! #lppacs #classof2020 #lincolnpark

Today the Senior Spotlight falls on Hailey Bartlett! Hailey lives in Freedom, PA, and has spent her entire high school career with us in the Writing & Publishing Department. She is a staff member for BatCat Press and The Siren, is the assistant editor of Pulp, and is also a member of both the National Honor Society and Ex Libris Literary Honorary Society. Needless to say, Hailey is an exemplary student and has become a vital part of our writing community! Hailey has been... published several times this year; you can currently find her work in Silent Auctions Magazine and Blue Marble Review, with more work forthcoming elsewhere. In addition to her classes here at LPPACS, Hailey has also been a part of the Writing Away the Stigma workshop through the Creative Nonfiction Foundation. On top of all of this, Hailey has a strong interest in dramatic writing: in addition to being a part of last fall’s Playwriting Workshop, she has also served as Head Writer for Ensemble Immersion. Given her talent and dedication for writing, it comes as no surprise that Hailey will attend Chatham University next fall as an English major with a minor in Creative Writing. Hailey, we are wishing you all the luck in the world, and we can’t wait to see more of your work in print. The past four years have been wonderful, and we miss you already! #lppacs #classof2020 #lincolnpark
