Last night around 630pm Station 25 responded to assist Kennett Fire Company on a building fire in the 600 Block of Cypress Street. Engines 25-1, 25-2, Rescue 25, Chief 25, Deputy 25 and the EMS units made the response and took their arrival assignments. First arriving crews found an active fire after some sort of explosion. Crews were tasked with evacuating the building and searching for occupants while also handling fire attack. Due to the structural collapse it made it dif...ficult to get to some portions of the building to extinguish the fire. Once the collapsed portion of the building was shored, crews preformed overhaul and extinguished any remaining fire. Fortunately there were no injuries, all units cleared the scene around 2am and returned to Station to clean equipment. Thanks to the units who covered Longwood during this incident.
