Our show features talented artists representing a variety of mediums. Some of the categories are likely what you expect - painting, sculpture, etc. But we also feature artists who create unique pieces that are also functional, like this handmade bag designed by Horace Thomas.

#FlashbackFriday: Did you know the first Labor Day art show was in 1979, and was held in conjunction with the Foundation's annual day of music? The show featured 87 artists and craftspeople including Royce Yoder (pictured here) with his wife Marci.
#CALLFORARTISTS: We are full steam ahead and excited to be back at the park this year. We are very optimistic, but have safeguards in place to ensure your success and protect your investment in the unfortunate event that the Art Festival would be cancelled again this year. First, to encourage participation and support artists, we lowered this year's application fee to $15. Additionally, the deadline for booth fees has been pushed back to make room for unexpected changes, and ...each artist will receive a full refund of any booth fees if the show is cancelled. For 43 years, the quality of the Long's Park Art Festival has attracted hundreds of artists and thousands of visitors to Lancaster County. We plan to deliver on the caliber artists expect, and will work hard to partner with you on an integrated marketing campaign that will bring the right customers to your booths. We are looking forward to another fantastic year at the Long's Park Art Festival, and hope you'll consider joining us! The application deadline is March 1. APPLY NOW at longspark.org.

This has been a challenging season for the art community, and as a Foundation we want to mobilize our resources to support artists in whatever way we're able. Over the next several weeks leading into the holidays, we will be sharing pieces from artists who were invited to participate in this year's Art Festival. These artists have created pieces that would serve as beautiful Fall decor or holiday gifts for those you love. Today's featured artist is Jonathan Simons. You can learn more about him and purchase his work at: http://www.woodspoon.com/.
