S.O.S. Save Our Swifts The Lehigh Valley Audubon Society has agreed to a host GoFundMe page for a group of community members committed to leading a campaign to raise money to save the Bethlehem Masonic Temple chimney. Thousands of swifts rely on this chimney during their fall migration and losing it could spell disaster for them. With the help of the community, the developer, John Noble, is committed to saving the birds by either reinforcing the original chimney as a freestan...ding structure or building a new chimney of similar proportions (5’ x 5’ x 50’). This group also identified the need to educate and increase awareness around the plight of Chimney Swifts throughout our communities. Remember that hunting is allowed in certain areas of the park. This includes duck hunting very close to some trails. A map of permitted hunting zones can be found on either the Pennsylvanis Game Commission website, or the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission website. So please wear some orange while hiking around the lake especially near the shoreline.
It's hard to believe that it's been 5 years since the dedication of the Leaser Lake Accessible Recreation Area! The Leaser Lake Heritage Foundation has had great success in the past, and we're very happy to announce that our organization is currently reorganizing under new management to continue to serve and promote Leaser Lake. More news to follow....
September, 2006. The kids have grown, but Marc and I haven’t aged a day
The Dietrich's Farm circa 1960's. This was one of three farms that were flooded for the creation of Leaser Lake. Do you know who owned the other two farms?
