We have revamped our book club! First, we are going to be moving forward with a book every two months, rather than a book every month. This will give you more time to read the book, and not feel so rushed. Second, our books will be more like recommendations, not a requirement to read. You don’t have to read them if you aren’t interested or if it doesn’t necessarily apply to you.... Lastly, we will be working in more nonfiction and self-help books as well to diversify our book recommendations. Our book for February is Option B! Check out the link below to learn all about our new book.

There are all types of grief that people may be feeling right now, whether it’s the death of a loved one, or a different type of grieving: missing time with those you love, a postponed event, a job you may have lost. All too often, families discount the value of ceremony after the death of a loved one, and we certainly don’t want you to make that mistake. Coming together after a loss is a very essential part of the grieving process and gives everyone the opportunity to share memories, express emotions, and find comforting support. Whether you choose burial or cremation; whether you select a formal funeral or a more relaxed memorial service, the need for acknowledgment of the loss with family and friends is ever present.

Veterans have a very special place in our heart over here because our company is named after Lawrence T. Miller, our funeral director's (Jan's) father. He's pictured here in his formal uniform. He was a MP in the Army and served during World War II from 1942 -1945. To all of our nation's veterans, thank you for your service!

To be able to care for the people you love, you must first take care of yourself. It’s like the advice we’re given on airplanes: put on your own oxygen mask before trying to help someone else with theirs. Here's a great article with some advice on taking care of yourself. Even if it's one small thing, what can you do for yourself this Tuesday? https://bit.ly/36fYNN2
