Heyy everyone, did you miss us last week!? Well we are back and here to share some fun facts about our amazing Dr. Julia! Why did you choose dentistry?: My dad is a dentist and I practically grew up at his office, and when I was old enough I worked there as well. I loved the energy and flow of the office and that he got to meet and help so many different people throughout the day. I didn't take a straight path into dentistry, though - in college I studied Art and Art History... and worked in NYC in art curating before making a hairpin turn back to my roots and dentistry. The pivotal moment for me was having to decide if I wanted a career that could impact people and help improve their health - so for me, that meant dentistry. Fav procedure/task you do?: I really do love every procedure I do because I'm helping to improve not only the dental health, but the overall health of our patients. My very favorite things, though, are when I'm talking with a patient and I see those 'aha' moments, when the pieces fall into place, and the patient has a better understanding of their mouth and how to keep it healthy. I love to empower our patients with knowledge, it's incredibly satisfying! After work I like to: Hang out with my family - preferably outside: playing, going for a walk, or sitting by the firepit with a cold beer. Favorite Meal: The location and who I'm sharing the meal with makes all the difference! I could (and have - waddup Molls!) eat minute rice and cheap wine with my bestie, share a plate of homemade nachos with my sisters, or split a cheesesteak (whiz with) with Ben and those would all be my favorite. Favorite Getaway: Right now my 10 minute commute is my only 'getaway' lol. I do love to travel and explore new places; I'm especially partial to warm beaches or beautiful mountains. Until then, Ben and I are enjoying showing our kids Philly and why we love it here! Biggest Fear: Snake clowns. If you haven't seen Lego Batman I'm sorry I'm not sorry for putting this image in your head. She also added: I love what I do and I want our patients to have a positive experience here. I truly hope that comes through! Anyone else afraid of snake clowns? So as I’ve mentioned, you all have been so kind and welcoming to us here at Kite & Key Dentistry and we are so beyond grateful! We have only been open here in PA for 3 months and the amount of support and love we’ve received is INCREDIBLE and we wouldn’t be here without all of you! As you may have heard as you walk out the door, we are working towards a goal of 100 google reviews! And wow, have you all come through so far! It is SO exciting when I see a new notification and g...et to read your thoughts and kind words. So I decided, why not share them! The first person you’ll meet is our incredible EFDA (expanded functions dental assistant), Amber! So here is all about the women behind the mask who gets you ready to go for Dr. Julia: Why you chose dentistry?:... I just kind of fell into it and instantly fell in love with it. Fav procedure/task you do?: Getting to know everyone and helping to maintain your smiles. After work I like to: Spend time with my family. My kids are some pretty awesome people so I enjoy spending all the time I can with them. Favorite Meal: Buffalo Mac n Cheese. Anything with buffalo/hot sauce is honestly a pretty solid win. Also coffee, that counts as a meal in my book. Favorite Getaway: Anywhere that there is a beach. I just love to relax and listen to the sound of currents. Biggest Fear: The dark (don't ask me to go out alone at night-ever) and I have a pretty legit fear of clowns. Happy March Delco/Philly! What fun are we having at Kite and Key Dentistry this month? Well.....since you asked.....this month we are having our own madness challenge! FLUORIDE MADNESS IS HERE!... Anyone who comes in for a cleaning gets a choice of fluoride and man has it become a thing here in the office as to which flavor is superior! If you ask Ben he’s ALL in on #teammelon but our ladies in the back Dr. Julia and Amber would very much beg to differ #teamcaramel . Man did this week just FLY by! Can you believe we’re already about to be in March!? Like is it just us or does time seem to move differently since the pandemic started? Haha Before we head out to enjoy our weekend, we wanted to introduce you to, last but not least of our front desk team, Marianne! A lot of you may not have had the pleasure of getting to know her as she works our late nights, so here’s a few little fun facts about Marianne!... Why you chose dentistry?: I am preparing for a new chapter of my life and wanted a new challenge since this field is a field I have not worked in. I also enjoy working with people. Fav procedure/task you do?: Calling insurance companies to get complete info so we have a comprehensive record of what their benefits will cover to help patients avoid any stress. I also really enjoy speaking with the insurance reps over the phone. After work I like to: Go on a power walk, weather permitting, or exercise and then get comfy and relax. Favorite Meal: Salmon, scallops, with a veggie packed salad, brown rice and a good glass of Vino. Favorite Getaway: Cape May for a week in September when the crowds are gone. I also hope to cruise the Rhine River and visit Italy someday. Biggest Fear: Failure; I am a perfectionist and want to complete everything I do in life perfectly. For me, anything else is not acceptable. Happy hump day everyone! Halfway through the week, we’re almost there! Now that you met me, let’s introduce you all next to the guy who’s teaching me everything he knows, our Office Manager Ben! ... Why you chose dentistry?: I used to be in corporate dentistry (and have been for awhile), but I love helping patients and am so excited to be back at the front desk. Fav procedure/task you do?: I love giving refunds! It's always awesome when we can get more benefits for a patient and get them money back! After work I like to: do more work! or buy books on Kindle that I'll probably never get to. Favorite Meal: I had a period of time where I ate cafeteria sushi every day for like a year. So I'll say sushi. Favorite Getaway: Anywhere I can walk extensively! Old european cities are a safe bet. Biggest Fear: Getting bopped on the head by a falling bit of space debris ^apparently that’s a quote from Schitt’s Creek (something else Ben loves, quoting his favorite show or movie lines lol) He also made sure to mention: "I can't wait to meet you all and convince you the superior fluoride flavor is melon." I have been one of the people answering your messages and calls, checking you in/out, and doing all the fun, behind the scenes paperwork to make sure your appointment goes smoot...hly! I also have been doing my best to keep you updated here on social, so lucky me, I get to go first! lol Why you chose dentistry?: "I actually just got into dentistry. I found this job after health issues and then the global pandemic caused me to need to find a new path for my life and I hoped that maybe I could maybe help people be less afraid while at the denist." Fav procedure/task you do?: "insurance breakdowns - getting all the details from the insurance company to find the best way to save you money, it’s kinda fun!" After work I like to: "watch whatever netflix/hulu show I am currently binging and cuddle up in my bed to relax" Favorite Meal: "steak is always a winning meal" Favorite Getaway: "a cruise - although they leave you wanting more of the destination, you get to experience so much on the way to them and meet some great people along the way to experience the destinations with" Biggest Fear: "the dark!....you can't see if you're in trouble or not, literally anything can get ya! no thanks. haha" I love meeting and getting to know everyone so far and can’t wait to watch this place grow!
