It’s Teacher Tip Tuesday! This week’s quote comes from Ms. Maggie. Topic - Shaping Positive Behaviors Consistently praising a toddler in a small way for a desired positive behavior is the fastest way to see it repeated and become an expectation. In the beginners classroom, we use stickers, stamps, and the occasional reward bracelet. This method of shaping behaviors has been very effective in encouraging turn taking, acts of kindness, following directions, and raising a hand when they are in need. Our students wear these items with pride and they are easy to distribute at a moments notice. #teachertiptuesday #positivebehavior

Fundraising Request for Cradles to Crayons Philadelphia. Kids' Clubhouse has proudly been supporting C2C as a donation site, has delivered over 20 carloads full of donations, and now as a host for their virtual fundraiser. This amazing organization provides immediate and personalized supplies for children in financially needy or emergency situations. Donations are checked for quality, personalized for size and specific requests and then a package of clothing, school supplie...s, shoes, toys, and other items is taken to the children. It truly is an amazing organization. They are hosting their big fundraiser virtually this year and we have a goal of raising $500. Click the link below if you'd like to donate. This Teacher Tip Tuesday is brought to you by Ms. Maggie Topic - Creating learning opportunities in nature. A great way to introduce natural science in a child’s routine is by creating learning opportunities in nature as often as possible. Encourage them to smell, count, or touch safe objects seen outdoors to help make strong and positive connections. One great activity is a nature scavenger hunt! Collect leaves, acorns, pinecones, and a variety of materials together to examine. I encourage making them into various art projects such as leaf shading with a crayon or a nature collage!

This Teacher Tip Tuesday is brought to you by Ms. Laura! Topic - Including a Variety of Families in the Classroom When teaching our Family theme, it’s important to incorporate diversity and acceptance of different family lives. We have many books at the Clubhouse that include all types of families, so I make sure to read these to my students. Afterwards, we discuss that families can look different from one another, but each family is filled with love. #family #preschool #love
