When you’re in KW on vacation, one of the real cuisine treats is a pound of the fresh catch known as Key West Pinks. About a block and a half walk on N Front Street from our KWSCR winter rentals, the quaint restaurant offers some of the freshest peel n’ eat shrimp anywhere. The shrimp are fresh off the docks at the Historic Seaport2 blocks away. (BTW, Jimmy Buffett’s iconic Seaport recording studio was originally a dockside shrimp storage cooler) TIP: Tell your waiter to hold the bay seasoning and just dip your shrimp in melted butter. The fresh taste is incredible. I had been going to KW for a couple years before a local told me to try these tasty treats at Two Friends. Now it’s a regular stop. Eat in the covered outdoor patio. Very casual, open-air and quite nicely lit up at night. And sit toward the back where it’s more quiet and you can talk a little better away from the indoor bar area at the front where it’s well-known Karaoke holds forth.
