Each time, Lisa E. has been the lifeguard. Today an elderly woman was in the pool and I noticed the incredible care that Lisa was giving her. She helped her in and out of the pool, watched her like a hawk while she was in the pool, and helped her up the stairs when she was leaving, all while keeping her eyes on the rest of us in the pool. I thought you should know what an extraordinary job Lisa is doing." We Our Members and Staff!

Friendship Circle had a great time today learning how to make challah - traditional, round, and even stuffed! We can't wait to see you next week. Our special guest will be Mara Simon (also known as the Jewish Martha Stewart).

ECE Shabbat Party 10/23/20

As you can see Emma and Sara had a great time at our first Challah Club Zoom. Join us In-person or virtually for our next Challah Club on November 5th. Make and take challah using fun flavors, cool toppings, and unique braids/shapes. Each session makes one make and take challah to bake at home, and dough to practice making challah for the following week. Virtual pricing includes ingredient pickup box (contains perishables) for following along at home. Learn more about after school programs at www.lvjcc.org.

We'd like to give a huge shout out to the students and staff from Muhlenberg College's Office of Community of Engagement. They offered their complimentary, college student-led enrichment programs to our JSchool and JLounge students, and our kids have been loving the "Shape It Up!" (fitness), "Art Day" (arts and crafts), and "Theatre Arts" (voice and movement games related to musical theatre) weekly sessions. It's awesome to have students virtually leading these classes from all over the country! We are getting to see different sides of our students, as these programs really bring out their full creativity and talents. We're so grateful for these amazing opportunities to continue the fun and learning outside of the regular classroom.

In late August, Tropical Storm Isaias caused flooding on the JCC's basement level, which has delayed the reopening of our locker rooms. With the help of The Redwoods Group, BELFOR Property Restoration, and Franklin Flooring, Inc., we will soon reopen these spaces with brand new, modern flooring! The men's side is almost done and work has begun on the women's side. Stay tuned next week for an official reopening date.
