Hand carved and painted by one of our local community members, Mr Stewart Earhart, owner of main Street tattoo studios and owner of american-born craftsman. This is going to look great outside on the side of the building and we cannot thank you enough Stew for all of your hard work on this over the past year... it's beautiful

Sponsorships opportunities for the Hopewell Fish and Game Association's 2021 Series of Youth Program Events are now available. Arguably the most important part of what we do at Hopewell Fish and Game is the Youth Program. Open to the public and geared towards beginner level participants, our Youth Series of events has reached 17 new dates in 2021. Youth Shotgun Clinic, Fishing Clinic, Archery Clinic, 22 Education and Competition Clinic, Insect and Nature Classes, and of cours...e, the big YOUTH DAY in September. We have only been able to grow this program like we have over the past 3 years if it weren't for the generous contributions and partnerships with our annual sponsors. For more information about sponsoring our youth program, please visit our official web page. https://www.hopewellfishandgame.com/youthsponsor/ For any additional information, please call Youth Committee Chair, Ryan Maters at 717-487-8004.

We are still sitting on the merchandise boxes that were supposed to be used at our festival last year. If you remember, we had to cancel it due to Covid restrictions. The GOOD NEWS is that we will have them in our merch case for the March 4th opener of Sporting Clays. These and many more will be available for purchase at the clubhouse.

The Hopewell Fish and Game fly tying classes will be held on three consecutive Mondays, November 2nd through November 16th, 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Classes are free of charge and open to club members and the public, ages 10 yrs. and older. Instruction is informal and will be geared to beginners. However, fly-tiers of all levels are welcome and encouraged to attend. Attendees can bring their own equipment and materials. Snacks and refreshments may be brought in by attendees, and t...here is a soft drink machine in the club house. November 2nd Fly Tying Tools The Vise Selecting a vise is your first important decision when beginning to tie flies. It’s not just a question of having to spend money, although this expense is a real concern for many folks. The vise you choose can help make or perhaps break your abilities as a fledgling tier. Your vise is a fly tying toolperhaps the most important tool you will buy. November 9th - Proportions Proportions Why they are important Ugly flies catch fish, pretty flies catch fishermen, but a well tied fly catches both. This is why it is important to not only tie effective patterns but it’s also important to tie correct patterns. Correct means proportional flies using the materials from a recipe and using the right techniques to make the fly look as intended by the original author of the pattern and durable enough to make it worth your time to tie. You will get a great satisfaction out of tying flies when they are correctly tied and look good. The fish are going to eat them either way in most cases if you have good presentation, so why not make the best fly you can? November 16th Question and Answer and Fly-tying Session The class is open for questions and discussions of various fly-tying subjects. While these are going on, participants can tie their favorite flies. For more information, and ALL information, please contact Jim Coyle at 717-586-4751
