GENERAL PURPOSE Under general supervision, restocks and replenishes food service supplies, assists wait staff and removes and resets tables. ... ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Quickly clear dirty table settings and prepare table for resetting. Promptly and consistently reset all service ware as prescribed. Assist in the stocking of server stations. Assist server with food & beverage service to ensure guest satisfaction. Transport all dirty tableware from dining room to dishwashing area for proper cleaning. Perform any general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards. Prepare service wares for all meal periods throughout the day to maintain an adequate supply. Perform all assigned side work to include replenishing condiments and restocking side stands & hot line/ expo area. Perform other duties as requested, such as cleaning unexpected spills, answering telephones and taking room service orders, handling special guest requests, greeting and seating guests and ensuring guest satisfaction according to Hilton guidelines. Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times. Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management. OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Provides assistance to other employees and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and the hotel. Attend required meetings SUPERVISORY DUTIES - None Qualifications JOB QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge Must have basic knowledge of restaurant operations. Skills Must have vision to observe entire room in poorly lit conditions. Must have finger, hand and upper body dexterity to grasp, push and pull equipment, levers, controls and knobs. Must be able to bend and reach across tables and to retrieve items above head. Must have upper body strength to continually lift and carry 30lbs throughout entire shift. Abilities Must have the ability to follow verbal instructions or instructions by example. Education/Formal Training None Experience None Material/Equipment Used Standard restaurant equipment including but not limited to coffee machines, ice machines, toasters and beverage dispensers. Broom, mop, vacuum and carpet shampooer. Continual exposure to hazardous chemicals used for cleaning. Environment Physically strenuous - continual standing, walking, bending and lifting in indoor environment. Intermittent exposure to extreme heat (dish room & kitchen) and cold (coolers & freezers).
